Magnetic Chalkboard Contact Paper VS Wallpaper:

If you want to create a magnetic surface, you can use magnetic contact paper instead of regular chalkboard wallpaper.

Installation works virtually he same way, since both types have a peel-and-stick backing.

However, the magnetic version costs quite a bit more (more than 3 times as much). It has an iron material within the paper that attracts magnets, and therefore makes the contact paper more pricey.

Plus, it only comes in a smaller 48″ x 24″ size. In other words, it’s not ideal for covering an entire wall.

That said, magnetic chalkboard paper still provides a good option for covering refrigerators, cabinet doors or tabletops. For example, it may cost a little more than magnetic paint/primer, but it can save you a bunch of time and a lot of work.
